Comprehensive training for emergency response teams

The challenge: from theory to real-world application.

A major industrial plant sought not only to comply with official regulations (NOM-002-STPS), but also to ensure that its operational staff could respond accurately and calmly to real-life risk scenarios, where every second counts.

Our solution: tactical training program

We implemented a high-impact training program, designed in accordance with NFPA and civil protection standards, divided into four tactical pillars carried out in the field:

Fire brigade: live-fire training on the proper use of fire extinguishers and the control of small fires, with an emphasis on perimeter security.

First aid: protocols for stabilizing and providing immediate care to injured individuals in emergency zones (as seen in the shaded area).

Search and rescue: techniques for extracting and transporting injured individuals in conditions of reduced visibility or in hard-to-reach areas.

Emergency evacuation: coordination of exit routes and crisis management to ensure that 100% of personnel reach assembly points in the shortest possible time.

The result: proven responsiveness

  • Time Reduction: a significant reduction in the plant’s total evacuation time was achieved following the third drill.
  • Zero Accidents: during the training period and the following year, the plant reported zero incidents resulting from poor risk management.
  • Successful certification: the brigade obtained their certificate of professional competence, ensuring full compliance with the STPS.
  • Staff empowerment: employees reported a significant increase in their confidence to act during emergencies, eliminating panic in critical situations.
"The difference between a controlled incident and a disaster lies in people’s preparedness. With this program, we’ve turned a legal requirement into a culture of prevention that saves lives and protects the company’s assets today."

Underwater inspection and cleaning of storage tanks.

The Challenge: safety vs. business continuity.

A client in the industrial sector needed to perform the mandatory inspection and deep cleaning of its fire protection water storage tank. The logistical challenge was enormous: emptying the tank would leave the plant unprotected for days, waste thousands of liters of treated water, and incur the high cost of a complete operational shutdown.

Our Solution: “live” intervention technology.

At FTMS consulting, we deploy a team of industrial divers specializing in confined spaces to perform comprehensive maintenance without altering the water level:

Internal inspection by a certified diver: detailed assessment of structural integrity, valve condition, and corrosion levels.

Condition assessment: identification of critical vulnerabilities using underwater measurement equipment.

Technical sediment cleaning: removal of sludge and debris using suction systems that do not affect the operation of fire pumps.

Photographic and video documentation: provision of high-definition visual evidence for technical support, insurance purposes, and audits.

The result: efficiency and total protection.

  • Zero downtime: the plant kept its fire suppression system 100% operational throughout the entire process.

  • Sustainability and cost savings: water waste was prevented, and the costs of refilling and chemical treatment were eliminated.

  • Regulatory compliance: the client received a complete technical report to meet civil protection and insurance requirements.

Engineering and quality assurance for fire suppression systems.

Supervision and technical audits: ensuring safety in hospital kitchens

The challenge: regulatory precision in critical areas.

Hospital kitchens require a higher level of protection due to the vulnerability of the environment. The challenge was to implement a clean agent fire suppression system that strictly complied with international standards. For this project, it was determined that a scheduled operational shutdown was necessary to allow for a thorough intervention that left no room for error.

Our solution: the value of specialized consulting.

At FTMS cosnulting, we serve as the project’s technical and supervisory arm, ensuring excellence at every stage:

Detailed engineering: we design the optimal technical solution for the area, defining the strategic placement of nozzles, detectors, and clean agents.

Expert selection: we recommend and verify a certified installer to carry out the work, ensuring skilled labor.

Installation supervision: we monitor the installation of manual stations, piping, and activation systems step by step, ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the engineering specifications.

Final acceptance audit: we perform operational tests and component validation to certify that the system will function correctly in the event of any emergency.

The result: certified security and full compliance.

  • Zero technical deviations: thanks to constant supervision, the installation was completed without errors, achieving 100% compliance with legal regulations and NFPA standards.
  • Safe return to operation: following the scheduled shutdown, the kitchen resumed operations with a state-of-the-art suppression system, protecting both property and the lives of patients and staff.
  • Documentation support: the client received an audited technical dossier, essential for their hospital accreditation and insurance processes.
